After getting positive feedback on past Shamans Camps we at the Shamanic Arts Center are satisfied that a camp gathering is an effective preservation method for shamanic culture, how dependence on the fairgrounds in Hotchkiss for the Camps has proven to be problematic. The major problem is the fairground's rules against fires (no matter how small) while we feel that fires are essential to a ceremonial gathering.  We have decided to restructure the camp into a smaller more intimate gatherings of elders & wisdom teachers with an emphasis on ceremonies and talking story around a sacred fire (see schedule @ https://tockify.com/traveling.shamans.camp/pinboard .) Traveling Shamans Camp 2024 will be hosted on the SAC grounds (with a fire) but entrance is limited to only 20 per day.
